Thank you for visiting www.StampRiver.com.
My Father took me angling for the first time over 30 years ago. All we had was a spinningrod with a very light mono and a neat little spinner. He taught me how to cast, and quickly I had my very first Steelhead hooked. We played that fish for almost 30 minutes until we finally had it at our feet. It was a magnificient 14 pound steelhead. 30+/- years later I have been not only able catch steelhead, but also salmon, halibut, bass, crab, prawn, and trout, to name just a few. I am an avid fisherperson and my wife would call it an addiction! Fishing to me is so much more than landing big fish, it is all about enjoying the pristine waters, standing in the pouring rain and casting into a Steelhead green rivers, hiking through the woods to get to that secret spot. It’s a lifestyle of enjoying the outdoors on Vancouver Island, and I recommend it to highly to everyone. Luckily, I am able to fish almost full-time as a fishing guide. As most of you know, on Vancouver Island there is no “off season” for fishing, you can fish everyday of the year, either in the salt water for salmon and or bottom fish, or our rivers for salmon, trout and steelhead, or the lakes for bass and trout. I have set up these websites to share my experiences and I will report as accurately as I can on fishing conditions in and around Vancouver Island, BC. As well as spending a little time explaining how to make smoked salmon, canning steelhead, fixing my boat, tying jigs, etc… and reviewing all the gear that I spend time using. Thanks for visiting!
